How to Strategise for Your Upcoming CBSE Exam

For students, it’s exam time, which comes with stress and anxiety. When they hear about exams, they get scared and nervous. So, now it’s time for the students to strategise their preparation. Students should make sure that they include all the subjects while preparing their schedules. Students, while preparing for their exam, should start with the syllabus. Once they complete the entire syllabus, start solving the sample papers, previous years’ papers, important questions, etc. Also, they should be well-versed with their NCERT textbooks and should practise the exercise questions provided at the end of each chapter. Students should also maintain chapter wise notes, which will help them while revising.

CBSE exams are around the corner, so students should have finished their preparation, and currently, they should be revising the subjects. So, when they begin their revision, they can refer to resources other than textbooks and class notes. For example, CBSE Class 10 students, while preparing for their Maths exam, can refer to RS Aggarwal, NCERT Solutions, etc. Similarly, the English exam includes essay writing, article writing, and letter writing, especially for the grammar section. Students can refer to sample writings like appointment letter, friendship essays, Independence Day articles, etc.

CBSE Exam Preparation Strategy

The preparation for the exam can not be done in a night or a week. To be fully prepared for the exam, students need to study hard throughout the year. So, here we have provided the preparation plan and strategy which students should follow right from the beginning of the academic year.

1) Follow the Syllabus

Students are advised to go through the syllabus properly at the beginning of the academic year. It will help them understand particular topics, subtopics, and marks weightage. Also, they get to know the details about internal assessment and project work. By knowing the syllabus, they can plan their studies in an advanced and structured way.

2) Create a Study Plan

To be regular with their studies, students must have a proper study plan for themselves. So, they should create a daily study plan that contains the number of hours they will study a particular subject topic. Also, it should include the time for revising the topics they have learned before.

3) Solve the Sample Papers

Solving the sample papers is the best way to evaluate the preparation level of students. They can assess their preparation level and check how much they are prepared to face the actual exam. By solving the sample papers, they get to know their weak and strong areas and accordingly, they can work on them to improve their performance in the exam.

4) Refer to NCERT Books

Most of the time, students make the mistake of studying from other books. They do not refer to the NCERT books. They follow local authors’ books or guide books to cover the syllabus quickly. Due to this, they do not have a good hold on the concepts. They just mug up the answers to score high marks. As a result, they score average marks as the questions in the exams are asked in a twisted way. So, students are advised to follow the NCERT books and study from them.

5) Do the Revision

After completing the syllabus, students should keep revising the topics. Otherwise, they will forget the concepts. Students can easily find the essential topics during revision as they have solved the sample papers and mock papers. So, suppose they are revising the Science subject, they should tick mark the questions often asked in the sample paper as the essential questions. Thus, they will also have a list of crucial questions which they can go through during the exam and quickly complete their revision. It will also help them refresh their memory and recall their previous knowledge.

CBSE provides essential study resources like sample papers for all standards, answer keys, marking scheme for each year, previous years’ papers with solutions and sample writings for essays, articles, comprehensions, such as complaint letter, etc. to make the preparation more manageable for students
